After his clerkship, Joe joined the Admiralty Practice group of Griggs & Harrison in Houston where he defended Jones Act, 905b and general maritime personal injury and death claims, prosecuted maritime property damage claims and litigated commercial disputes involving multi-million dollar oil well blowout claims, vessel and rig arrests and insurance coverage disputes. In 1998, Joe joined the Plaintiff's bar as a Partner in Galveston County 's Simpson, Beeton, Finegan & Jaworski LLP where he successfully fought insurance and corporate interests for injured men, women and children. In 2002, Joe joined The Buzbee Law Firm where he continued his successful representation of individuals and businesses in serious personal injury and death claims and commercial disputes until this year, when he formed his own firm to better focus on maritime and admiralty law matters. Joe is a former three term Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem on the Galveston, Texas City Council, elected in 2000 and re-elected in 2002 and 2004. He recently stepped down after six years of service, the maximum term under the City's term limits laws. He also served as a Trustee on the Galveston Wharves Board which supervises the operations of the Port of Galveston. In 1996 he chaired Galveston's Ethics Commission and in 1998 he served as a Galveston Park Board Trustee. Joe resides in Galveston with his wife Rebecca and his two children. Charles Moure obtained his law degree from St. Thomas University and went on to secure an LLM in maritime law from University of Miami. Charles began his maritime practice in Miami, at what was then the largest maritime firm on the East Coast. Charles mostly handled maritime defense work for vessel owners and insurance companies. Charles then moved to Seattle where he continued defending maritime injury cases, now involving mostly fishing vessels. Charles began handling plaintiff’s cases in 2001 on behalf of people injured on all sorts of vessels, including fishing vessels, oil rigs, and cruise ships.
